SIKESTON — Walter Jerome Wilson, 71, died June 9, 2018, at Missouri Delta Community Hospital in Sikeston.

Born Nov. 17, 1946, son of the late James and Edna Cathey Wilson Warren, he was a veteran of the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea. He was a truck driver for PTI and attended Potters House in Sikeston.

On Aug. 19, 1996, at Benton, he married Brenda McMorris who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife include: two sons, Brian Wilson and Walter Jerome Wilson of Sikeston; one daughter, Rebekah Cuevas of Texas; one stepson, Thomas Gadberry of Memphis, Tenn.; seven brothers, Jimmy Wilson of Sikeston, Wayne Wilson, James Wilson, Dennis Ray Wilson, Larry Wilson and Sammy Wilson of Okeechobee Fl., and Jackie Wilson of Michigan; five sisters, Sharon Stanfield and Monica Adams of Okeechobee Fla., Kay Gatlin of Arkansas, Sandy Wilson of California and Charlene Stone of Sikeston; and two grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather who raised him, the Rev. Charles Warren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ponder Funeral Home with Clyde Quick officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
