CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — A Sikeston man was sentenced to prison on drug and gun charges in federal court Tuesday.

According to a release from the United States Attorney’s Office, Rasheik “Rocky” Harris, 33, was sentenced to 150 months of incarceration for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and 120 months incarceration for possession of a firearm by a felon. Harris was also ordered to serve a total of eight years of supervised release and pay a $200 special assessment. Harris appeared before United States District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr. on July 3.

Harris was convicted on April 3 when a jury found Harris guilty after a trial. The evidence at trial demonstrated that Harris was stopped by Sikeston Department of Public Safety officers after he was observed driving with a suspended license. Officers located a loaded revolver, 97 grams of methamphetamine and small amounts of heroin and fentanyl in the vehicle that Harris was driving. Harris admitted to officers that he was in possession of those items.

This case was investigated by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Special Assistant United States Attorney Timothy J. Willis handled the prosecution for the Government.
