According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 8:10 a.m. when a vehicle driven by Catherine Hogan, 66, of Country Club Hills, Ill., ran off the left side of northbound Interstate-55 a the 14.4 mile marker. Hogan overcorrected and then ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Hogan was taken by helicopter to a Memphis, Tenn., hospital while her passenger, Melvin Hogan, 82, also of Country Club Hills, Ill., was taken by ambulance to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.
