SCOTT CITY, Mo. — Laverne Freed, 90 died July 8, 2018 at her home in Scott City.
Born June 27, 1928, in Charleston, Mo., to Everett Lee and Mary Lee Flowers Patrick, she was a waitress at Charlestonian Restaurant and was a member of New Life Gospel Center in Scott City.
On Dec. 12, 1951, in Piggott, Ark., she married Lonnie Murl Freed who preceded her in death on Oct.24, 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Rickey (Kim) Freed of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Danny Freed of Scott City; three daughters, Konnie (Cob) Keller of Scott City, Janie (Lynn) Niswonger of Ocala, Fla. and Linda (Joe) Clifton of Orange Park, Fla.; two brothers, Ronnie Patrick of Six Mile, S.C. and Roy Patrick of Anniston, Mo.; a sister, Evelyn Zam of Oregon, Ohio; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City where services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday with Revs. Jack Owens and Larry Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
