SIKESTON — Buford L. Snipes, 73, died July 15, 2018, at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston.

Born Oct. 29, 1944, in Holcomb, to the late J.A. and Frieda Cook Snipes, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea. He attended Tanner Street Church of God and had been a cost accountant for various nursing home corporations before retiring.

On June 15, 1974, he married Velta Kincade, who survives of Sikeston.

Other survivors include: two sons, Kyndl Snipes of Blue Springs and Kyle Snipes of Matthews; two brothers, Hubert Snipes and Harold Snipes of Kennett, Missouri; two sisters, Louise Snipes and Betty Rose Tharpe of Clarksville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren, Jamie Snipes and Rylee Snipes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen Snipes and Joe Snipes; and one sister, Goldie Mary Howard.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors. Eric Snipes will officiate.

Pallbearers will be: Kyndl Snipes, Michael Snipes, Tracy Snipes, Tony Howard, Aaron Allison, Jordan Allison and Xavier Jamerson.

Honorary pallbearer will be Kyle Snipes.
