Portageville police arrest two after drugs are discovered during traffic stop

Portageville police officers found approximately 900 grams of marijuana and 48 pills that field-tested positive for MDMA (ecstasy) during a traffic stop on Saturday night in the parking lot of a local business on East Highway 162. Two were arrested and are currently facing drug charges.

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. - Two men are in custody on drug charges following a traffic stop that led to the reported discovery of marijuana and illegal drugs.

Portageville Police Chief Ronnie Adams said that at approximately 8:20 p.m. Saturday, officers from his department along with members of the SEMO Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of a local business on East Highway 162.

“During the course of the investigation, officers observed a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle,” Adams said in a news release. “Officers then conducted a search of the vehicle and located approximately 900 grams of marijuana and 48 pills that field-tested positive for MDMA (ecstasy).”

Two men were then taken into custody.

According to online court records, Kneed J. Rondez Deshun Shallie, 28, of Marietta, Ga., is charged with delivery of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid; and Khairi Abdul Cinque Annoor, 21, of Hayti, Mo., is charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid. Arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday before Associate Judge Joshua Underwood for both of the men.

Bond is set at $25,000 each.

Adams thanked the officers from the Task Force and from the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in the case.
