SIKESTON — A fire early Wednesday morning destroyed a Sikeston residence.
Firefighters with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to a fire call on Jaycee Street at approximately 4:21 a.m. Upon their arrival, firefighters saw the structure was over halfway involved.
Crews used hand lines to protect exposures while master stream operations were being set up. A short time later Ladder No. 1 utilized its master stream on the ladder to extinguish the majority of the fire. Personnel finished up and the fire was completely extinguished.
