Jerry Townsend

DUDLEY, Mo. — Jerry Dale Townsend, 73, died July 17, 2018, at Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County.

Born Oct. 20, 1944, in Fisk, son of the late James and Myrtle Irene Williams Townsend, he had lived in the Dudley area most of his life. He had worked as a carpenter for Brown Construction for over 25 years and had attended the Advance First Church.

On November 20, 1965, in Dudley, he married Janice Jean Hunt, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Jerry and Angela Townsend of Dexter and Scott and Stephanie Townsend of Dudley; two sisters, JoAnn Horn of Farmington and Emma Lou Hobbs of Jonesboro, Ark.; three brothers, Carl Townsend of Dexter, Pete Townsend of Jackson and Larry Townsend of Pacific; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, David, Bob, Louie and Jack Townsend; and one sister, Shirley Bender.

Visitation will be from noon until service time at 2 p.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Cory Townsend of Dudley and Brad Moore of Advance officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dudley Cemetery at Dudley.
