Sikeston man indicted by grand jury on sex charges

BENTON, Mo. — A Sikeston man was indicted by a grand jury on felony rape, sodomy and assault charges in Scott County.

A’Dante D. Blackmon, 17, is charged with three counts of first degree rape or attempted rape occurring on June 18, 20, and 22; two counts of first degree sodomy or attempted sodomy occurring on June 20 and 24; and one count of first degree assault or attempted assault occurring on June 24, according to online court records.

A grand jury indictment was filed on Tuesday and a warrant was served by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office to Blackmon. Bond is set at $100,000 cash only, and he remained in the Scott County Jail as of Thursday.

Blackmon is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Aug. 9 before 33rd Circuit Judge David A. Dolan.
