CHAFFEE, Mo. — Leon Joseph Kirchdoerfer, 90, died July, 20, 2018, at his home.

Born May 13, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, son of the late George and Bertha Hoefler Kirchdoerfer, he worked in maintenance from 1955 to 1986 with Lonestar in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1111 of Cape Girardeau, St. Ambrose Men’s Club and Cape Girardeau Veterans of Foreign Wars 3838. He worked in farming before he served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

On April 30, 1955, he married Joann Alma Kielhafner and she survives of the home. 

In addition to his wife, survivors include: three sons, John Kirchdoerfer of Palm Springs, Calif., David (Tracy) Kirchdoerfer of Chaffee and Leonard Kirchdoerfer of Healdsburg, Calif.; a daughter, Georgia Smith of Chaffee; and five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Monday at Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. followed by K.C. prayers.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop and the Rev. William Hennecke as concelebrants.

Burial with full military honors will be at St Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee.
