East Prairie man dies in head-on vehicle collision

DOGWOOD, Mo. — An East Prairie man died following a head-on vehicle collision Saturday in Mississippi County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 8:22 a.m. on Route B, one mile south of Dogwood, as the southbound vehicle driven by Jeffery D. Smith, 45, of East Prairie crossed the center of the road and struck the northbound vehicle driven by Daniel F. Stucker, 21, of Essex head-on.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:27 a.m. by Mississippi County Coroner Terry A. Parker.
