Harold Gaines
BLOOMFIELD, Mo. — Harold M. Gaines, son of the late Curtis Edgar and Winnie Mable Skelton Gaines, was born in Bloomfield, on April 17, 1922, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston on July 23, 2018, at the
age of 96 years, 3 months and 6 days.
Mr. Gaines had lived in Bloomfield all his life. He had worked at Town and Country Super Market before he retired and was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield. He enjoyed wood working, yard work and flowers.
On March 15, 1946, he was married to Doris Troxell in Dexter. She preceded
him in death on June 19, 2010.
Surviving are two sons and spouse, Danny Gaines of San Antonio, Texas, and Gary and Cindy Gaines of Sikeston; four grandchildren, Christina Gaines of Sikeston, Stephanie Greenfield of Dexter, Dawn Pena of San Antonio, Danny Gaines of Seattle, Wash.; five great-grandchildren, Sierra Stevens, Savanna Pena and Seth Pena all of San Antonio, Wyatt and Braxton Greenfield both of Dexter; one brother, Donald Weaver of Bloomfield; four sisters, Dorothy Weaver Evans of Houston, Texas, Georgia Weaver Hughes of Morris, Ala., Melba Weaver Barnett and Louise Weaver Smith both of Bloomfield. Other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Pamela Gaines, two brothers, James R. and Dale Weaver; and one sister, Helen Weaver Bowling.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July, 26, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Bro. Kenneth Gaines of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
