Ada Lay
EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Ada Marie Lay, 79, died July 22, 2018, at East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born April 1, 1939, in Blytheville, Ark., daughter of the late William Levi and Pearl May Littrel Counts, she was a homemaker and member of New Madrid Baptist Church.
Her husband, Arnold Melton Lay, preceded her in death in September 1992.
Survivors include: one son, Arnold Lay of East Prairie; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda Jones of Thayer, Donna and Scott Bryant of Anniston and Joyce and Benny Kimball of New Madrid; one sister, Mary Matthews of East Prairie; and 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Joyce Lay; one daughter, Kimberly Lay; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Mike Johnson will officiate.
Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Roger Brooks, Brandon Grissom, Kevin Lay, Lee Lay, Bryan Lay and Benny Kimball II.
Honorary pallbearer will be Cole Kimball.
