Harrison Marr Sr.
FLORISSANT, Mo. — Harrison Marr, 98, formerly of Portageville, died July 23, 2018, in Florissant.
Born June 29, 1920, in Point Pleasant, son of the late Alexander and Rosie Lena Duvall Marr, he was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member and deacon of Freewill Lily of the Valley Free Baptist Church in Point Pleasant.
On Dec. 20, 1946, he married Surmalia Carr, who preceded him in death on July 10, 1987.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Sandy; one brother, Charlie; and two sisters, Willie Clayborn and Cora Lee Treadwell.
Survivors include: his children, Harrison and Macie Marr II of Tacoma, Wash., Vera and Marques Hayes of Florissant, Gene Morgan of Markham, Ill., Renee and Darryl Rowland of Newburgh, Ind., and Tommy and Jacqueline Marr of Frisco, Texas; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was July 27 at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid.
Services were conducted July 28 at Lily of the Valley Free Will Baptist Church in Point Pleasant.
Burial followed at Mason Cemetery.
