Irene Handley

HAYTI, Mo. — Irene Handley, 80, died July 29, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Sept. 4, 1937, in Hayti, daughter of the late Carrie Mae Nelson and Christopher Columbus Crumley, she was of the Baptist belief.

Her husbands, Robert Penrod and William Walter Joseph Handley, preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Steven F. Penrod on Dec. 17, 1993; and five brothers, Eugene, Elmer, Huey, Howard and Dallas Crumley.

Survivors include one daughter, Kaye (Gary) McMullin of O’Fallon; one son, Robert (Janis) Penrod of North Carolina; three sisters, Christine Brooks of Kennett,              Leora Curtis of Wardell and Opal Hardesty of Spencer, Ind.; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Thursday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
