Erma Robinson
CHARLESTON, Mo. — Erma Jean Bell Robinson, 78, died July 30, 2018, at her home.
Born July 21, 1940, in McCrory, Ark., daughter of the late Australia Alvin and Mary Pierson Bell, she was a member of Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, where she joined in 1960. She was a cook and housekeeper for several local families and a cook at Larry's Quick Shack and the Country Kitchen.
On Oct. 26, 1980, she married James Hubert Robinson, who preceded her in death in October 1994.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Bell; three sisters, Eula Mae Long, Leonia Massey and Ruby McKinney; and three grandsons.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Shirley Bell of Sikeston and Ricky and Valery Bell of Charleston; one brother, Richard Bell of Ocala, Fla.; a godson whom she raised, Savion Dowell of Charleston; and seven grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from noon until service time at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston with the Rev. J. L. Posey officiating.
The Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of the arrangements.
