Bill Holifield
SENATH, Mo. — Bill Holifield, 87, died Aug. 6, 2018, in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born Aug. 20, 1930, in the Nesbett Community near Senath, son of the late W.H. “Doc” Holifield and Vivian Cook Holifield, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He was also a member of the Senath United Methodist Church and American Legion in Senath.
On June 13, 1955, he married, Joyce June Johnson, who preceded him in death on May 24, 2007.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Kim Holifield of Kennett and Gregg and Shannon Holifield of Sikeston; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna and Jamie Montgomery of Senath and Christy Lynn of Octa; and nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Jearline Davis, JoVera McKelvey, Jessie Mae Hardin and Kitty Holifield.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at McDaniel Funeral Chapel in Senath.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Senath United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Pemberton officiating.
Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers will be: Jason Lynn, Aaron Lynn, Scotty Montgomery, Will Holifield, Caleb McGee and Ken Johnson.
