Michael Cornell
SIKESTON — Michael Robin Cornell, 71, died Aug. 10, 2018, at his home in Sikeston.
Born March 26, 1947, in Kellogg, Idaho, son of the late William Lyle and Emily Hughes Cornell, he was a graduate of Kellogg High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Following his discharge, he enrolled at the University of Missouri-Columbia where he graduated in 1974 with Bachelor of Science in bBusiness. He was employed with Missouri Department of Corrections in facilities at Chillicothe and Charleston until retirement and was a farmer in Mississippi and Scott County. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Sikeston and a member of the Charleston Men’s Golf Association.
He is survived by one son, Jonathan Cornell from Forrest City, Ark.; one grandson, Zane Cornell of Sunrise Beach; and his special friend, Lynda Muench of Sikeston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Lee Cornell and Robert Dale Cornell.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Sikeston. Carl Muench of Cape Girardeau will serve as lay officiant.
Burial will be in the Kellogg City Cemetery at Kellogg.
