Barbara Yant
MATTHEWS, Mo. — Barbara Jean Yant, 64, passed away on Aug. 14, 2018, at her home in Matthews.
Born Oct. 10, 1954, in Hayti, daughter of the late Durwood and Mattie Moore White Sr., she worked in the cafeteria at Missouri Delta Medical Center until 2016 when ill health forced her retirement and a member of Crossroads of Hope Community Church.
On Jan. 6, 1973, at the First Baptist Church in Sikeston, she married David Yant, who survives of the home in Matthews.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, David (Katie) Yant Jr. of Florissant and Joshua Cooper of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer (Richard) Oliphant of Sikeston; and five grandchildren, Connor Yant, Cierra Yant, Evelyn Garrett, Paisley Eaves, and Laylynn Eaves.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home where services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. The Rev. Rodney Davis, pastor of Crossroads of Hope Community Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
