Alice Bell
EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Alice Bell, 94, died Aug. 15, 2018, at Bertrand Nursing Center.
Born Jan. 16, 1924, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Harry and Chessie Zook Ishmael, she had been employed in the dietary department at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was a member of Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.
On May 24, 1942, in Jackson, she married Floyd Vernon Bell Sr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1979.
Survivors include: one daughter-in-law, Lisa Bell of East Prairie; one son-in-law, Claud Thomure of East Prairie; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Floyd V. “Butch” Bell Jr.; one daughter, Burse Lea Thomure; two brothers, Harold Ishmael and Jacob Ishmael; and three sisters, Lillian Emig, Bonnie Kell and Helen Woodard.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Friday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Claud Thomure officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Matthew Bell, Michael Bell Jr., David Thomure, Danny Bell, Eric Thomure and Ray Bell.
