Portageville man struck by car, killed late Tuesday

MALDEN, Mo. — A Portageville man was killed after being struck by a vehicle while walking in the road late Tuesday in Dunklin County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday on Route H, 11 miles west of Malden, as the southbound vehicle driven Devin T. Nall, 19, of Campbell struck a pedestrian walking in the roadway. The pedestrian, who was identified as Joshua D. Palmer, 41, of Portageville was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:42 p.m. by Dunklin County Coroner James Powell and taken to the Dunklin County Morgue. His death marked the 32nd fatality for the Patrol’s Troop E this year.
