Kenneth Cope
NEW MADRID, Mo. — Kenneth Rodgers Cope, longtime resident of New Madrid, passed away peacefully in his sleep Aug. 16, 2018, at the age of 75.
He was born Nov. 4, 1942, in Rison, Ark., son of the late Claude and Cloma Cope.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby John and Boyce; and one sister Annie Bell Locke.
Survivors include: his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jenny Cope of New Madrid; two grandsons, Clay Cape and Craig Cope; one sister, Ruthie Lee Breech; and brother, Donald Cope of Rison.
Others survivors include an abundance of loving nieces and nephews and many friends. Ken was a member of the United Methodist Church and served his community as alderman. He managed The Corsage Shop since the 705, where he excelled in merchant and other civic boards, floral design, creativity and beautiful arrangements.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Monday at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. The Rev Bob McQueen will officiate.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
