Charleston woman dies in crash

CHARLESTON, Mo. — A Charleston woman was killed and a man injured in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday in Mississippi County.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 1:27 a.m. on US 62, one-fourth a mile west of Charleston, as the eastbound vehicle driven by Alexis D. Hamilton, 21, of Charleston traveled off the right side of the highway and struck a utility pole.
Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:55 a.m. by Mississippi County coroner Terry Park. Her passenger, 22-year-old Quantereis D. Williams of Charleston, sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
