Anita Coomer
WHITEWATER, Mo. — Anita Raye Coomer, 70, died Aug. 21, 2018, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Sept. 25, 1947, in St. Louis, daughter of the late Henry and Ruby Baker Daust, in 1986 she returned to Southeast Missouri and then started her career with Southeast Missouri Hospital where she worked for 23 years in oncology and hospice before retiring in 2010. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Delta and Order of Eastern Star Whitewater 174.
On Aug. 17, 1967, she married Jackie “Jack” Coomer Sr., and he survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons and their spouses, Chuck and Pam Coomer of Doniphan, Jeffery Coomer of Dallas, Texas, Jack D. and Penny Coomer of Delta and David “Pooh” and Tanya Coomer of Whitewater; her brother, John Daust of Baxley, Ga.; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Daust, Jack Daust and Art Daust; and two sisters, Mary Ann Daust and Rosalee Daust.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Randy Conn and the Rev. Rocky Talent officiating.
Burial will be at noon at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
