PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. Bill Hayes, 91, died Aug. 20, 2018, at his home in Portageville.

Born Oct. 27, 1926, in rural Pemiscot County, son of the late Nelle Ferguson Hayes and Hurtle Hayes, he was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rights. He severed in the U.S. Army, and in 1957, he started the Bill Hayes Ford Dealership in Portageville, which he ran for 38 years until 1995.

On Feb. 1, 1948, in Pemiscot County, he married Maxine Hayes, who preceded him in death on Sept. 14, 2011.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Hayes.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Dianne Hayes of Frisco, Texas; special caregiver, Shelia Polk; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at DeLisle Funeral Home In Portageville.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First Church of God.

Burial will follow in the Dry Bayou Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Gary Hayes, Tony Hayes, Keith Hayes, Dan McCall, Ronnie Kimes and Barry Lee Richardson Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Barry Richardson Sr., Don Rone, Moon Shankle, J.D Patton, Jimmy Ramsey and Billy Joe Russell
