Ann Duty
BENTON, Mo. — Ann Duty, 87, died Aug. 21, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born April 1, 1931, in Kasey, Ky., daughter of the late Jess L. and Mary Magdalene Forbar Priest, she was a homemaker and member of New Fellowship of Hope Church in Benton.
On Dec. 29, 1949, she married Estel D. “Ed” Duty, who preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2012.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sheila Taylor and Esther Lawless of Benton; one brother, Charles Thomas Priest of Burfordville; and one sister, Wilma Nell Mainord of Cape Girardeau; and six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Christine Duty; two brothers, Petey Priest and Sonny Priest; five sisters, Aline Thompkins, Edith Clark, Mildred Brown, Helen Sanders and Jesselene Ray; and one granddaughter and one great-great grandson.
Graveside services under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home were at 11 a.m. Thursday at East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery with Mike Johnson officiating.
Pallbearers were: Bill Taylor, Jessie Burrell, Billy Taylor, Jason Lawless, Matt Ward and Kenny Parker.
