Man suffers gunshot wound to foot after shots fired at home

SIKESTON — A man is recovering from a gunshot wound to his foot after shots were fired at his home early Friday in Sikeston.
At 3:16 a.m. Friday, officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to the 400 block of Matthews Avenue in reference to gunshots being fired and a report of a house and subject being shot, according to Capt. Austin Henley with DPS.
“Upon arrival, they found a house had been shot, and a male subject inside the house suffered a gunshot wound to his foot,” Henley said.
The victim was treated and released from a local hospital Friday, and DPS is actively investigating the case, Henley said.
