Elmer Blankenship
BLOOMFIELD, Mo.— Elmer Gene Blankenship, 72, died Aug. 27, 2018, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 17, 1946, in Advance, son of the late Elmer Edward and Helen Geraldine Probst, he had lived in the Marble Hill area before moving to Bloomfield in 1996. He worked as a well driller.
On May 26, 1978, in Zalma, he married Martha Fay Bennett, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Tommy Richardson of Bloomfield; five sons and daughters-in-law, David and Lisa Blankenship, Michael Blankenship, Frankie and Donna Tackett and Larry Tackett of Bloomfield and Barry and Natasha Blankenship of Malden; two sisters, Linda Johnson of Benton, Rose Slinkard of Marble Hill; two brothers, Kenny Blankenship and Orville Blankenship of Benton; and 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tony Blankenship; and one sister, Ruby Blankenship.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Ronnie Winchester of Brownwood officiating.
Burial will be at the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter.
