Sikeston man faces felony charges for stealing vehicle
SIKESTON — A Sikeston man faces multiple charges after allegedly stealing a vehicle over the weekend.
Willie B. Boone, 39, is charged with felony stealing of a motor vehicle, two counts of felony first degree property damage, felony resisting arrest/detention/stop by fleeing, misdemeanor first degree trespassing and misdemeanor stealing, according to online court records.
At 4:57 a.m. Sunday, officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to the 600 block of Daniel Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle parked outside an apartment building, said Capt. Austin Henley with Sikeston DPS. Upon their arrival, officers saw a vehicle parked sideways in the road. A man seen near the vehicle took off running and was subsequently located on South West Street. Officers were able to determine the vehicle was stolen from Stinnett and Burrows Service and Repairs located at 613 S. Friso, in Sikeston.
The man, who was identified as Boone, was arrested and transported to the Pemiscot County Jail, where he remained in custody as of Tuesday.
Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.
