Charles Conrad
SIKESTON — Graveside services for Charles Phillip Conrad, 65, who died April 15, 2015, at his home in Plano, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born Feb. 3, 1950, son of the late Benton B. and Glenda Waters Congrad, he graduated from Matthews High School in 1967. He attended the University of Missouri-Rolla and received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1971. He later completed his Master of Science in engineering management at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corps on his graduation from the University of Missouri-Rolla. He served on active duty during the Vietnam War and later in the Texas Army National Guard and other Army Reserve assignments. On his retirement, after more than 20 years of service in the U.S. Army Reserves, he received the U.S. Army Meritorious Service Award. In his professional life, he worked as an engineer at Texas Instruments, Specialized Systems and other electronic companies. He was a 32nd degree Mason in the Plano Masonic Lodge 768.
Survivors include: his sister, Bonnie Conrad Nelson of Pullman, Wash.; his niece, Christina Leigh Nelson, her husband Eric Mitchell Fife, and their children, Brooke Ashleigh, Savannah Joyce and Mitchell Nelson Fife of Rockingham, Va.
