Jim Garner
ANNISTON, Mo. — James Francis “Jim” Garner, 76, died Aug. 28, 2018, at Bertrand Nursing Center.
Born April 14, 1942, in Matthews, son of the late William Claude and Gwendolyn Cole Garner, he had been employed by International Engineer Operators Union in St. Louis. He was a member of St. James Baptist Church in East Prairie.
On July 29, 1973, he married Carolyn Kay Coffer, who preceded him in death on May 11, 2012.
Survivors include: five sons, Franky Garner, Todd Garner, Chris Garner, Troy Garner and Shawn Garner of East Prairie; one daughter, Cynthia Warren of East Prairie; two sisters, Gail Williams and Brenda Liston of Madera, Calif.; and 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Garner Jr.; and one brother, Michael Claude Garner.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday.
Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Dustin Garner, Bubba Warren, Jamie Shands, Aaron Garner, Chris Lang and Luke Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Richard Allen, Jamie Allen, Paul Haney, Bruce McLain, Jeff Cogdill, Duke Presson, Ronnie Byassee and Steve Hall.
