Carolyn Duff

SIKESTON — Frances Carolyn “Sis” Evans Duff (Granny) was born Aug. 7, 1938, in Bloomfield, to Roy and Frances Yeakey Evans, who preceded her in death. She was the only daughter, but was blessed with three loving brothers, Jim (Gerry), Tom (Glenda) and Norman (Molly) “Punk” Evans.

She received her healing from this world’s illness on Aug. 30, 2018, at 7:34 a.m.

Carolyn was raised as a farmer’s daughter and was proud of that life. She often told stories of growing up on a dairy farm.

On July 12, 1957, she married Thomas Porter Duff Jr. (Q) who survives of the home.

Carolyn graduated from Blodgett school. After graduation, she worked for both Blodgett and Kelly schools. Upon retirement, she was an employee of Lambert’s Cafe.

Carolyn was of the Baptist faith and attended Blodgett Baptist Church for much of her life, where she was the church pianist for many years. She also enjoyed singing in church.

She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (J.D.) McClard and Terri (Tom) Williams, both of Sikeston. The light of her world was her grandchildren, Kristin (Chris) Porter, Sara (Russell) Orr, Trevon (Chelsie) Williams and Lindsey (Adam) Laneer.

Carolyn loved her great-grandchildren playing in her yard. They were truly the apple of her eye; Kinley and Clarissa Porter, Thomas Orr, Mason and Spencer Laneer and Cayson and Kailey Williams.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel until time for services at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dale McFarland, pastor of the Grayridge General Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories at Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be Carolyn’s nephews: Roy Evans, J.C. Evans, Alan Evans, Chris Evans, Justin Evans and Wayne Friend.

Carolyn loved the ocean, going to the beach, and flowers.

She will be missed, but her love will continue through those who loved her.
