Arrest made in Sikeston murder
SIKESTON, Mo. — A Cape Girardeau man has been arrested for the Aug. 23 shooting death of Marcus De’Andres Price.
Shamar A. Lowe, 19, was arrested by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety on Thursday and charged with first degree murder, armed criminal action and resisting/interfering with a felony arrest. Lowe’s bond is $200,000 cash only.
Sikeston DPS officers received a call of a subject shot in front of 507 Kendall St. at 12:24 a.m. on Aug. 23, according to initial reports. Officers responded and found Price, 27, unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the torso. Price was reported to have exited his home that night around 12:20 a.m. Shortly after exiting, two subjects were reported to have approached him on foot and gunfire erupted. Price was struck in the altercation and died shortly after. The two suspects fled the scene.
The SEMO Major Case Squad was activated and several detectives met to investigate the murder. Police interviewed numerous individuals connected to Price.
On Thursday Sikeston DPS Director Mike Williams thanked the members of the Southeast Missouri Major Case Squad that includes investigators from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Scott County Sheriff and New Madrid County Sheriff. He also thanked everyone for their tips that help lead to the arrest.
