Glenn Forbis
SIKESTON — Glenn Monroe Forbis, age 91, passed away on Aug. 31, 2018, at La Bonne Maison in Sikeston.
Born Oct. 11, 1926, in Holt Summit, he was the son of the late Fred and Hester Windsor Forbis.
On May 6, 1951, in Sikeston, he married Mary Ann Hitchcock Forbis, who preceded him in death on June 7, 2012.
He served in the United States Army from 1945 to1953 where he achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class and served in Germany. He was also a member of the Sikeston American Legion Post 114.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Anne Forbis of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Louie Belt Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Justin (Jana) Dover of Gallatin, Tenn., Christopher Forbis of Greenville, S.C., and Andrea Forbis of St. Louis; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Baylor Dover of Gallatin.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo Forbis, Linley Forbis and Lloyd Forbis.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at noon at the First Baptist Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Jeff Loftin, youth pastor of the First Baptist church in Sikeston, officiating.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Chris Forbis, Justin Dover, Louie Belt Jr., John Culbertson, Tom Bridger and Mark Peel.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Louie Belt Sr., Jon Scarborough, Carl Bogle, Johnnie Dixon, Tom Marshall, Bill Littleton and John Glenn Peel.
