Charleston R-1 launches new, modern website
CHARLESTON, Mo. — Blue Jay fans have a new place to find calendars, school information and more as the Charleston R-1 School District has unveiled a brand new website.
Officially launched Saturday in an announcement via social media, the new site features a modern design, updated Blue Jay logo and photos of student activities on the home page.
School and district information is well-organized and easy for users to locate, according to B.J. Babb, parent liaison for the school district.
Parents will find counselor, nurse, bus, food service, staff list and handbook sections within each school’s page.
The “Athletics and Activities” page displays a list of extracurriculars offered at each school, and visitors from neighboring districts will find the “Map & Directions” page to be helpful.
Perhaps the most interesting and helpful feature is the calendar, which allows guests to choose which items they want to view, Babb said. Those interested in just CMS Athletics, for example, may select just that calendar to view or print, he said.
Administrators said having a strong online presence is vital for communicating school information and values and is part of an ongoing effort to improve relations with stakeholders.
