CHARLESTON, Mo. — Lonnie Denell “Lakeside” Johnson Sr., 62, died Aug. 8, 2018, at his home in Charleston.

Born Feb. 18, 1956, in Wyatt, son of the late James Elijah "Jack" Johnson and Sadie Hampton Johnson, he was a 1974 graduate of Charleston High School in Charleston. He was a factory worker at Superior Electric in Cape Girardeau for many years, a custodian at the Charleston Manor Skilled Nursing Facility and currently employed at the Nutrition Center in Charleston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Fisher Johnson Jr.; and one brother, Ricky Johnson.

Survivors include: five sons, Elijah Joseph Fisher of Omaha, Neb., Shaundale Johnson of Marion, Ill., Evan Johnson and Marcus Johnson of Cape Girardeau and Lavontay Johnson of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two daughters, Sadie Johnson and Sylvanna Johnson of Fort Wayne; two foster brothers, Gawain Brown of East St. Louis, Ill., and Richard Robinson of Tacoma, Wash.; and 19 grandchildren.

Visitation is from noon until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday at House of Prayer World Outreach Center in Charleston with Dr. Henry L. Clark Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
