WEST MONROE, La. — Mr. and Mrs. Ferrel Stephen Austin, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Annette Austin, to John Hunter Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Edward Taylor Jr. of Natchez, Miss.
A 2010 graduate of Sikeston High School, the future bride earned a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Mississippi State University. A member of Delta Gamma Sorority, she is employed by Healing Hearts Child Advocacy Center in Southaven, Miss. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferrel Heigle Austin of Mounds, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wayne Tomlinson of Sikeston.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tenn., and a cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. A member of Kappa Alpha Order fraternity, he is the vice president of business development at Mississippi Land Bank in Senatobia. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Noland Edward Biglane, formerly of Natchez, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Edward Taylor, formerly of Yazoo City.
Plans are being finalized for an Oct. 13 wedding at First United Methodist Church in Sikeston.
