It was announced in a news release Thursday that President Donald Trump will be stopping in Cape Girardeau on Thursday, Sept. 13, to speak at a rally at the Show Me Center.

Trump will be giving his support to fellow Republican Josh Hawley, who is running for the U.S. Senate against Claire McCaskill.

According to the release, Trump will be showing his support to “protect and expand” both GOP majorities in the House and the Senate.

The press release also announced Trump will discuss the economy, his plans on border security, the Kavanagh confirmation hearings and more.

Southeast president Carlos Vargas sent an email to all students and staff after hours today that said the Show Me Center executed the contract and the event is not a university event. He wrote that it was “strictly a third-party rental agreement.”

Vargas said he would share any decision made about parking and building use as soon as they become clearer.

The doors will open at 4 p.m. and the rally will begin at 7 p.m. General admission tickets can be found at donaldjtrump.com/rallies/mo-sept-2018.
