Joe Salavarria
SIKESTON — Jose 'Joe' Salavarria, 66, died Sept. 9, 2018, at his home in Sikeston.
Born March 17, 1952, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, son of Rosa Marie Santiago Salavarria and the late Jose Salavarria, he was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church and had worked as a truck driver for Pullen Brothers for over 20 years before retiring.
On Oct. 9, 2004, he married Barbara Overton, who survives of the home in Sikeston.
Survivors include: two sons, Matthew Salavarria of Florida and Michael Tidwell of Sikeston; four daughters, Yashira Ramos and Marisol Salavarria of Newburgh, N.Y., Belinda Hise and Ashley Ottinger of Sikeston; and 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister and one grandchild.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Old Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Steve Vester, pastor, will officiate.
