Three accidents within an hour leave six injured
WYATT, Mo. — Three accidents in Southeast Missouri within one hour of each other left six people injured Friday afternoon.
The first accident occurred at 3:10 p.m. on US 62, two miles east of Wyatt when a westbound vehicle driven by Carrie Prince, 30, of Clarksville, Tenn., ran off the right side of the roadway, went down an embankment and overturned.
Prince was taken by helicopter to the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo., with serious injuries while her passenger, Casirmiro Alcala, 43, of Clarksville, Tenn., was flown to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
The second accident occurred at 3:15 p.m. on Route W in Scott County, a half-mile west of Oran, Mo., when a northbound vehicle, driven by Scott Diebold, 44, of Oran, failed to yield to a vehicle driven by Bobby Conner, 49, of Brownwood, Mo., who was westbound.
Both drivers received moderate injuries and were transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
The third accident happened at 4:17 p.m. on Interstate 55, northbound at the 19 mile marker, when a vehicle driven by Tracy Davis, 53, of Olive Branch, Miss., struck a vehicle in the rear that was stopped in the roadway.
Davis received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo., while the driver of the vehicle stopped in the roadway, Logan Ford, 20, of Portageville, Mo., was also transported by ambulance to Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
