Marvin Pobst
ORAN, Mo. — Marvin Gregory Pobst, 84, died Sept. 15, 2018, at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee.
Born July 7, 1934, in Oran, son of the late George and Rosie Walter Pobst, he served in the U. S. Army. After his service, he farmed and worked on a river boat for a number of years. He also owned and operated a liquor store in Chaffee.
On April 22, 1972, he married Frances Kay Rievley, who preceded him in death on Dec. 30, 1994.
Survivors include: a son, Greg Pobst of Cape Girardeau; a daughter and son-in-law, Marla and Damian Eftink of Leopold; a brother, Leonard Pobst of Oran; and three grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. Monday at the Amick-Burnett Burnett Chapel in Oran. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m. followed by the Oran Knights of Columbus prayers.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant.
Burial will be at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Oran.
