Sikeston woman arrested after allegedly stabbing and injuring another woman
SIKESTON — A Sikeston woman faces charges after allegedly stabbing and injuring another woman Saturday in Sikeston.
Jasmine N. Stevenson, 28, of Sikeston is charged with first degree assault and armed criminal action, according to Sgt. Jon Broom, public information officer with Sikeston Department of Public Safety.
At 1:25 p.m. Saturday, officers with Sikeston DPS responded to the 200 block of Alabama Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon their arrival, officers learned a 25-year-old Sikeston woman had been stabbed. Further investigation revealed there had been an ongoing feud between the two women, Broom said.
According to witnesses and the victim, there was a physical altercation that escalated when Stevenson allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed the victim’s arm several times. The victim was later transported to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, where she was treated for her injuries and released.
Bond was set at $35,000 cash or surety.
