Dorothy Broom
SIKESTON — Dorothy Broom, 99, died Sept. 16, 2018, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born April 12, 1919, in Ozark, Ark., daughter of the late John and Lacie Bankston Graham, she was a foster grandmother for Sikeston Public Schools and had worked for Krystal Restaurants in the Memphis, Tenn., area.
On June 1, 1946, she married John Byrd Broom; he preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1956.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, John and Sharon Broom of Jefferson City; one daughter, Barbara Boyer of Sikeston; and five grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Malden Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden. Johnny Hester will officiate.
Pallbearers will be: John Paul Brotherton, Roger Graham, Eric Graham, Francisco Saenz and Darren Broom.
Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
