Gertrude McCoy
SIKESTON — Gertrude McCoy, 93, died Sep. 16, 2018, at Delta South Nursing in Sikeston.
Born March 4, 1925, in Nettleton, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Savannah Horton Ergle.
On March 28, 1945, in Sikeston, she married Nathan Ray McCoy, who preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 2008.
Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Willie and Linda McCoy of Sciota, Ill., Arthur and Sandy McCoy of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Jerry and Julia McCoy of Henderson, Tenn.; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Grace and Gary Brown of Sikeston and Darlene and Robert Hamilton of Rockport, Texas.; three sisters, Edith Grainger of Sikeston, Ruby Lucero of Ottawa, Kan., and Juanita Ergle of Matthews; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Chris Polk, pastor of Matthews Missionary Baptist Church in Matthews, and Jason Davis, pastor of Anchor Church in Sikeston, officiating.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Joe Bard, Todd Green, Austin Brown, Stephen Smith, Taylor Green and Brayden Green.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Leslie Smith, Camie Bard, Valarie Bard, Haily Bard, Heather Smith, Kelli Harper and Tammy Smith.
