Ron Payne
SIKESTON — Ronald Mitchell "Ron" Payne II mercifully came into the presence of our Lord on Sept. 18, 2018, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Sept. 30, 1967, in Bloomington, Ill., to Ronald Mitchell and Martha "Marti" Jeffries Payne of Sikeston, Ron was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, the Sikeston Jaycees-serving as Rodeo Chairman in 2008 and was Chairman of Sikeston Tourism Board. He had worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Farm Bureau Insurance Company and J & E Wholesale Outlet.
Ron was the doting father of Hanna Ginel Payne and Ronald Mitchell III, whom he dearly loved, and he was a dedicated husband to Heather Welton Payne, whom he married on May 18, 1996, at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston.
Ron was a graduate of Sikeston High School and later of Southeast Missouri State University. Nothing pleased him more than spending time with his family and friends at Kentucky Lake and boating to "Mitchell Island.” He always had a friendly word and smile for those he met. And he did ever have a big laugh! Ron is survived by his wife and children, his parents and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mitchell and Della Payne; and his paternal grandparents, Leonard and Pearl Jeffries.
