Point of Clarification- SRO Memorandum of Understanding
From the beginning, Mayor McCrate agreed about having a meeting on the Memorandum, and mentioned he was to going to be out of town the week of August 13, and said they should meet on August 20, and to give time for City Attorney to draw up a document as a starting place.
Alderman Berry said that the Memorandum should be done before school starts on Thursday, August 16.
“After we find out what the election results are, maybe we could meet on August 10.” said McCrate. Berry replied, “That would depend on how quick the City Attorney can get the Memorandum of Understanding put together.”
McCrate said he was planning on taking on on the 13, 14, and 15.
Berry said, “I guess I we could meet on the 20th, and go from there.”
On Friday, August 10, City Clerk Rachel Wrather was notified by councilman Ray Staffey to post that a special meeting was to be held on Monday, August 13 for the purpose of discussion the Memorandum of Understanding with the School and the City. In the meeting, only three City Council members were present, Alderman James was not in town and the Mayor was out of town.
