Cryts speaks to Risco History students

Thursday, September 20, 2018
Wayne Cryts and his wife Sandy, came to speak to the Risco Hiigh School’s Freshman through Senior students last week. Cryts had stored his grain at the Ristine Elevator in New Madrid when it went into bankruptcy. The grain was to be sold to help pay off the bankruptcy debt. However, Cryts and his family chose to stand up against this decision and remove his grain from the Ristine Elevator in the early 1980s. This led to a long battle with the government over this removal and Cryts even endured jail time.
