Larry Jones
CHARLESTON, Mo. — Larry Ray Jones, 67, died Sept. 19, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Nov. 4, 1950, in Hayti, son of the late George Harrison Jones and Sadie Lee Holt Jones, he had lived in Mississippi County most of his life and was of the Pentecostal belief. Having worked in construction as a truss builder, he had lived in Tupelo, Miss., a number of years. He was a U.S. Marine veteran.
Survivors include: one son, Larry R. (Lana) Jones Jr. of Charleston; one daughter, Misty (Travis McLean) Jones of Charleston; two stepchildren, Harold “Peewee” Allcock and Evelyn “Sissy” Genaro; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, William H. “Bill” Jones, Arnold Jones. Jerry Wayne Jones, Mary Vera Viola Brewer and Patsy Lorene Jones Butler; and his companion, LaVonda Jean Payne.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. Monday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Mark Morrison will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military honors.
Pallbearers will be: Chris Whybark, Donald Hamby, Stephen Tatum, David Jones, Harold Allcock, Robert Heppe, Douglas Reynolds and Scott Reyolds.
