EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Sammy Denton, 69, died Sept. 20, 2018, at his home. 

Born May 31, 1949, in East Prairie, son of the late William Alton and Mary Elizabeth Boswell Denton, he was employed for 25 years by Stanley Muffler in East Prairie. He was of the Baptist belief.

On July 3, 1971, in Pekin, Ill., he married Carlene Davidson, who survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: two daughters, Angela Ann (Tim) Jordan and Brandy Lynn Denton of East Prairie; and three sisters, Marie Scott of Charleston and Katie Hodges and Rita Dowdy of East Prairie; and 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Dillon Denton; and seven sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday with Mike Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Teddy Ditto, Josh Sisk, Corey Sisk, Ray Scott, Teddy Sisk, T.J. Scott and Pete Wimberly.
