Jean Williams
MORRILTON, Ark. — Shirley "Jean" (Smart) Williams born in Sikeston, Mo., Dec. 20,1929, went home peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, in Morrilton.
Jean passed away in her home with family around her.
She was a longtime member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Morrilton.
Cooking for her church group and her family was her joy. She loved to work in her yard and crocheted hundreds of afghans for all her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, RJ Williams; father, James F. Smart; and mother, Dorothy Mae (Monan) Miller, both formerly of Sikeston and Oran, Mo.; beloved sister, Dottie Sue (Clayton) Bell, formerly of Memphis, Tenn.; and many aunts and uncles who were like brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Williams is survived by daughter, Jo-Ellyn Mayfield of Conway; son, Michael Cowan (wife Kay) of Morrilton; two grandchildren, Stacy (Shawn) Pate and Jason (Dalaina) Cowan; and five great-grandchildren, Madison, Ava, Brady, Paisley and Parker.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at Salem Cemetery.
